Our main goal was to create a fresh design, a recognizable building that is a little bit different from other contemporary buildings. We asked ourself a question: what represents Benetton company? Fashion, colors, cloth and innovative approach. All these we tried to incorporate in our design. We used textile facade that represents fashion company and vivid colors that are so typical for Benetton. Facade is made by horizontal and vertical wavy strips that intertwine the same way as the cloth is made by particular twines. The connection between Benetton company and this building is clearly visible. Color strips create an interesting color pattern that finally gives us more that six colors that are used. This is because of the interaction of semi-transparent material. This pattern can also evoke Islamic mosaics or Persian carpets that both have their roots in Islamic world. Such distinctive building could become a landmark, orientation point in the city. During the designing process we tried to meet the client’s needs as strict as possible.
